11/12/13 Weekly Update!

Hey all! I am emailing on a tuesday because the library was closed on Monday!! Last week we went to the temple at 530! We had to get up at 430 which wasn't fun. We usually get up at 545 to go play sports with some other missionaries, but 430 was waay early. It was great to go to the temple though! I love serving in the Lord's house! I went on tradeoffs with the Zone Leaders last week. I stayed in the area and served with Elder O'Brien. He was way cool. It was one of the only times I have planned on my own. It went fast, and we had a really productive day. The Lord really blesses us when we work hard and leave the other stuff to him! We finally got a new WML this week. It has been almost 2 months without one. His name is Stan Bybee. He doesn't know how to do missionary work and hasn't served a mission, but he is really humble and willing to learn and ready to work. It's perfect!! He is really fired up about the calling, but is kind of nervous he wont do a good job. We are going to help him the best we can! We have gotten really close with a new active family in the ward, the Tarvers. They are so awesome! She bakes us cookies for Sundays, and we go share a message and have good cookies haha. Its really fun. We have been working closely with a few of the active families, trying to get them to share the gospel. It hasn't worked too much yet, but there are signs that it may do well soon! It snowed here the other day, and it seems like we wont see the ground again until May. The roads were super bad, and we have been driving a Malibu. We kept getting stuck on hills, so finally our vehicle coordinator got us a Truck. its way cool, and so much easier to drive around in. The Truck needs to go in for service soon though. We got a new fleet of Nissan Fronteirs today, and Elder Springer and I, along with 6 other Elders, went out and picked them up and drove all 7 (plus our ride there) back. It was pretty cool seeing a long line of 7 brand new trucks, and it was wierd driving by myself. I hope we get one fo those new trucks, our truck has almost 65000 miles! That's way old for a mission car! We had a moose walk right up to our porch today, then go and start eating a tree by our apartment. I included a picture. That picture was pretty dangerous, moose kill a lot of people up here. That's a cow, or a mama moose. They are like mama bears if the young ones are around. Hers wasn't around so we took pictures, still standing kind of far away though! The other picture is the snow from my window, and some of our pday fun. One of the sisters (sister sherwood) did a lot of roping before her mission, so she was lassoing the elders. It was pretty fun. Pres. beesley gave her permission to practice roping as long as she didn't rope him, or her companion! pretty funny. all in all, its pretty good here. I hope you guys are good back home. I love and miss you! Love Elder Pawson
