9/9/13 Weekly update

Hey everyone!. This week has been pretty cool. Settling into my apartment, which is tiny compared to the ones in the MLM, so don't complain. Also everything here is so expensive, and we get less MSF than you guys by a lot, so you guys got it good there lol. This week turned out pretty good. We taught a lot of lessons and saw a lot of people. I invited a father from a part member family to be baptized, and while he didn't commit to a date, he did commit to being baptised, so we invited him to continue to pray about it, which was awesome. We also saw an inactive woman who had gone to church once after her baptism 20 years ago and then never came again. He taught the restoration to her and her mom, and after we recounted the first vision, both of them were in tears. it was pretty tight. We invited them to come to church yesterday but they didn't show up. THey had an area conference yesterday where they broadcast from salt lake. it was cool, they kinda talked about the same stuff as they did when they broadcast to michigan, and it sounded like they were talking through a tin can because it's alaska, but thats ok. The ward seems to be warming up to us a little, atleast we are almost getting fed every day now. I'm hoping that continues and isn't just a "lets check out the new elder week." I've been authorized to begin learning Samoan on tuesday afternoons. There are 3 samoan wards in anchorage, so if i do learn it i'll be stuck here a while, and i really want to go out to the bush and serve, but we will see. my companion comes every week and learns tagalog, so I'll probably go anyways or else I'll just have to study for those 2 and a half hours. I'll attach some pictures below for you. They are of my district and one is me and my trainer in front of the anchorage temple. Love you guys and can't wait to see you again! Elder Pawson Here is one more picture of my zone leader and I on our temple walk at the MTC. classic Here's my teacher bro. alder, my district at the Temple, and another pic of people in my district!
